Around the world, many adults are working from home, and more children are beginning to study from home because technology has become cheaper and more accessible.Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Since technological devices have become more affordable and accessible, adults and children can experience teleworking and online lessons at their own homes. From my perspective,
this
trend has both merits and demerits that will be analyzed in
this
essay. On the one hand, the key benefit of adopting teleworking and remote learning is that people can reduce the exorbitant cost of commuting.
For instance
, when the world was afflicted by the outburst of the Covid-19 pandemic two years ago,
this
was counted as a good chance for the impoverished who lived below the breadline to set aside their money for other important affairs,
such
as tuition fees and household expenditures.
Secondly
, home-based
work
and study
also
offer them flexibility in their schedules, which will boost their creativity and productivity in both fields.
While
people struggle to strike a balance between time for
work
and family, telecommuting and distance learning will provide them with enough space for
work
-life balance.
Thus
, they can
work
and study more effectively to climb the corporate ladder and achieve higher marks. Despite the advantages mentioned above, the drawbacks of
this
trend are evident. Chief among these is that there is a higher risk of overworking when telecommuting. Some companies tend to designate employees to adopt a hectic
work
schedule based on the assumption that they will have more time to accomplish the task. Added to
this
is the fact that students may experience short-sightedness or vision-related issues when sitting in front of the computers for
such
a long time, irrespective of how beneficial
this
is for their study progress. In conclusion,
although
telecommuting and distance learning may reduce the financial burden of commuting and offer people flexibility, there is still room for the demerits associated with a heavy workload and vision-related diseases.
