University education benefits the student and the society in the long term. Although, the students directly benefit from it, the fees should be either subsidized or fully paid by the government. This is because the society, on the whole, would gain from the knowledge and skills of the students. It is clear that higher education can determine the economic status of a country. The burden of paying for higher education is usually borne by the parents of the students in many parts of the world. This trend is changing as more and more students are paying their own fees and getting scholarships.
