Thomas Edison is one of the most famous people in the world. Most people know Thomas as the inventor of the light bulb. He has many different inventions, and he also has famous quotes. Many people know this famous saying about Thomas "Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent race." Some people agree with this quote while others disagree. I agree with Mr. Thomas in saying that perseverance brings success, patience is the key to everything, and working to achieve it is a dream. The first reason is perseverance bearing victory. This means that since your focus is on achieving higher whenever he approaches you, for example, Thomas Edison tried nearly a thousand times to bring the lamp to us. This means that he did not give up when trying five hundred or we did not have lamps. In conclusion, we must work until we reach what we want and not make what hinders us from excuses. The second reason is endurance is the key to everything. This means that you bear any responsibilities that may arise on you, after which you will find the solution. For example, students bear the burden of studying, and there are many assignments, writing and delivering them, and trying to keep time is considered a kind of good endurance. This means that students will bear the academic burden, and they will soon be reached. To conclude, the more impatient a person is, the more he will achieve. The third reason is working on it is a dream. This means there is no reason for laziness to do the reasons. For example, Thomas had the perseverance, patience, and most important of all he worked to achieve the dream and many of us like that. The teacher works hard to teach his students and the architect designs what he dreams of. This means that each of us has a role to play. In conclusion, each of us needs to know what his passion is and strives to achieve that by working hard.
Do you think that parents should be punished if their five-year-old child commits a crime? From what age should children be held responsible for their own behaviours?
Alcohol was also medication. I drank to quiet angst or because I was lonesome. I drank, it took years to realize, because I had clinical depression. Eventually I treated the depression but kept drinking. Alcohol was my stress-reducer, my reality fighter, the conferrer of artificial joys. Life changed in my 40s. I married, and with my husband, adopted our beloved daughter, now 17. Working from home, I made dinner, drinking wine with a neighbor mom. My morning-after headaches were worsening, though. Nights, rather than reading or chatting with my husband, I’d crash. I feared my drinking was destroying brain cells. I’d written about how alcohol is harder on women than men and that worried me, too. Some years ago, to prove I had control, I cut down to five nights a week. It was tough. How could I not drink after a rough day? I couldn’t manage two consecutive sober nights. Achieving my two sober nights was always an exercise in military-level strategizing. But every Sunday, I felt virtuous. An actual alcoholic couldn’t skip any nights, I thought. But I could. What does it mean to have a serious drinking problem? The answer is surprisingly vague. “Alcoholism” isn’t an actual diagnosis. In 1980, the American Psychiatric Association’s authoritative Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders established two different classifications: alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence. In 2013, the D.S.M. combined the categories to create “alcohol use disorder,” a spectrum ranging from mild to severe, based not on how much someone drinks but on how many of 11 behavioral or psychological symptoms a person has. Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has its own standards, focused more on quantity of alcoholic consumption. Seven drinks per week or fewer is considered safe for women, 14 or fewer for men. But guidelines fluctuate internationally, according to a Stanford University study from 2016. In Canada or France, you can drink more weekly and be considered “low risk.” Moreover, a recent study in The Lancet concluded alcohol is so tough on health that there’s no safe level.
The world we live in today is experiencing a high rate of increase in population. This factor has given birth to the idea of family planning, where coulples tend to downsize the number of children they intend giving birth to so they can give them quality life. However, there are also demerits of having smaller families than larger families. The need for having a more conserved number of family members gives opportunity for every member of the family to live better than members of a crowded family. My point is that the fewer people are in a family, the more distribution of family resources for example . A couple with two children can easily send their wards to a more expensive and better school compared to parents of five children. Similarly, the smaller family will spend less on feeding and have extra for savings. Additionally, children from smaller homes tend to be more reserved in nature and better behaved as their parents would have more time to give them one on one training. On the other hand, there is a plus for most African families who are characterized with a large number of members because they have strength. A large family give chance for division of labour when it comes to work. For example, a farmer with many children has less to worry about over manpower compared to another family with less members who may have to hire labour. Furthermore, larger families have an advantage of members not experiencing loneliness unlike the smaller families. In conclusion, although smaller families have some reasonable high points over the larger families, we still cannot shelve aside the low points like loneliness of children from such families which often lead to withdrawal or Loss of confidence.
