Dear Sir,
My name is Amandeep Singh and I am writing
this
letter to let you know that I met with an accident today. I had an interview with Mr Jacob for the position of Assistant Manager in your company but unfortunately, I was not able to attend it.
I was looking forward to attending the interview, however
, I got myself hit by a bike today and suffered some major injuries.Doctors suggest that I need at least a week's rest to return back to my normal schedule therefore
I request your support on this
.
Since I have been preparing for the interview for almost a month now and was really looking forward to being a part of your prestigious company, I would be grateful if my appointment could be rescheduled to next week.If you require any information from my end, please feel free to connect with me over email or phone.
Yours sincerely,
Amandeep Singh.Submitted by caamandeepsinghsaluja on

The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
