cause followed by deforestation which covered 30%. The third cause resulted from over-cultivation which represented 28%. Other causes occupied the least percentage. Regarding the degradation based on region, it can be seen from the table that Europe has suffered the most compared to the other regions reaching 23% where over-cultivation appears to outrun the other causes to about 9.8%. Meanwhile, Oceania's degradation was caused mainly by over-grazing which occupied 11.3% of the total 13 percentage and the rest was caused by deforestation. North America
