To Whom it May Concern, I am writing to seek your service to buy a house in Amsterdam. I have transferred my work to Amsterdam and I require to transfer my home early next month. I am Jennifer Ramos, I have looking for a house for my four-member family, My husband is a teacher and two kids are under five years old. I am looking for a four-bedroom property with attached bathrooms. . I want a double-storey concrete house with a garage for two cars. As I am a party person, It would be better with a big backyard,
then
I can accommodate my dining table in the backyard. I will be glad you could find a fully furnished home. The kitchen should be open type and we prefer to have a hood and in-build burner on the kitchen table top. Ours required the home near to the city centre to an easy commute to work for me and my husband. we are preferring a canal-side villa, which is very popular in Amsterdam. I will visit your office next Sunday for more discussion about the budget
as well as
to see if you have any readily available property. I look forward to seeing you soon. Yours faithfully Jannifer Ramos.

The Greeting

Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.

Always start an informal letter in the ways:

  • Dear + name
  • Hi / Hello + name

‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.

For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:

  • Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
  • Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
