, it is clearly seen that overgrazing accounted for the major cause of farmland deterioration and the least cause was other factors

the region that had a larger proportion of its land destroyed was Europe and the country that had a lesser effect was North America. it is seen from the graph that, animals feeding on grasses were the major cause of the degradation accounting for 35%.

was followed by the cutting down of trees which constituted a third. over-cultivation was

another factor , 28% and

7% were for other reasons. turning to the table, Europe was the most region affected by

this

degradation, at 23%. deforestation accounted for only 9.8%, over- cultivation 7.7%, and over grazing 5.5.

however

, Oceania was the 2nd leading country with its land degraded (13%) , overgrazing alone was 11.3% .
