Some people believe that restoration of old buildings costs too much; we should demolish them and build new ones instead. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, there is a trending argument in the society that we should destroy old
buildings
and build a new one instead
. Because the renovation of old buildings
is costly. I am not inclined towards the aforementioned statement. This
essay discusses my viewpoints about it with a few examples.
Firstly
, restoration of the buildings
is important as it showcases the history of that particular place. Moreover
, it somehow becomes the identity of the city. For instance
, there is a city name "Agra" in India where Taj Mahal was built. Today whole world knows about the Taj Mahal and they identify Arga city with this
relic. Secondly
, people
love to visit these types of old buildings
. Moreover
, people
love to see the old construction. As a result
, the countries having old architecture generate good revenue from tourism

, a country
like Rome generated 57.5 million in revenue from tourism

. For instance
, in Jaipur, there was an ancient building named "Amar Ghar". Authorities were planning to destroy the building so to make new commercial complex. Due to which people
started riots to oppose the decision.
To conclude, this
essay has given my viewpoints and reasons as well. I believe we should not demolish artefacts because it showcases the history. And the government should invest some amount to maintain these buildings
as a country
can earn a good amount of revenue from tourism
. In addition
, these relics play an important role in the tourism
sector.Submitted by akshayshrivastava1992 on
