Some people believe online reading materials should only be used for a child to learn to read whereas others believe only printed material should be used. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is irrefutable that teaching methods play a great deal of role in a child’s ability to learn. Some people are of the opinion that online via medium should be adopted to make kids learn. Others,
however
, hold the view that conventional printed media should be used. In the following paragraphs, I shall discuss both sides of the argument. I, personally side with the former view.
Firstly
, online reading material is a convenient and easy way to access the plethora of information. Sources
such
as Google, Wikipedia, YouTube enable kids to learn anything and from anywhere, as long as they have access to the internet. It
also
facilitates teachers to tailor their studying methods based on the capabilities of the students.
For example
, if a child wants to learn Spanish as a
second
language, he/ she can easily learn from different websites.
Secondly
, encouraging the usage of digital means for reading will
also
save a lot of paper.
This
is not only a cheaper option than books, but
also
will help us to save the environment as a lot of trees are cut to make paper.
For instance
, there are certain books on specific subjects which are either very expensive or rare.
Conversely
, the excessive exposure to the digital world hampers the eyesight and puts a lot of stress on the brain.
In addition
to
this
, it
also
distracts students by shifting their focus from studying to online gaming, music etc.
For instance
, in a survey conducted by a school teacher, 89% of the students agree to assimilate and comprehend effectively with a printed material. Summing up, learning is inevitable in every learning process. In order to maximize the learning experience with online methods we should focus on its controlled usage to eliminate health hazards.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
